Tasting of the special collection of 4 single cask Scotch whiskies from the Octave series from independent bottler Claxton’s.

Each bottle is dedicated to a different Winter Olympic discipline.

All whiskies come from a single Octave cask, small barrels that increase the interaction between wood and spirit, giving greater aromatic intensity and complexity.

The four whiskies in the collection:

Ardnamurchan 2018 – 52,8% ABV – First Fill Oloroso Sherry Octave

Rich and intense Highland single malt, with notes of dried fruit, caramel and sweet spices.

Limited edition: 88 numbered bottles.

Auchentoshan 2011 – 52,7% ABV – 2nd Fill Oloroso Sherry Octave

Elegant Lowland single malt with aromas of raisins, honey and vanilla and a soft, spicy texture.

Limited edition: 90 numbered bottles.

Glen Elgin 2015 – 51% ABV – 2nd Fill Ruby Port Octave

Fruity Speyside single malt with notes of cherry, red fruits and light nuances of cocoa.

Limited edition: 77 numbered bottles.

Tobermory 2019 – 53,2% ABV – 2nd Fill Oloroso Sherry Octave

Single malt from the Isle of Mull with a lively and fruity profile, with hints of caramel and delicate spices.

Limited edition: 62 numbered bottles.

A tasting dedicated to independent whisky, constructed as a progressive journey that leads the taster from more balanced profiles to expressions of great intensity and character. The comparison is between two precise visions: the rigorous selection of AG Rare Casks and the more expressive approach of the Dripping Art Collection by Franco Gasparri.

The tasting opens with AG Rare Casks, starting with the Glen Elgin 11 Years Old (48%), an elegant and rounded single malt, with a classic and well-balanced profile. This is followed by the Caol Ila 11 Years Old (48%), which introduces a clean and measured marine peat, maintaining balance and drinkability.

We then move on to the Dripping Art Collection, where the higher alcohol levels highlight structure, intensity and personality. The Glen Spey 10 Years Old (52.3%) surprises with its aromatic tension and elegance, the Caol Ila 11 Years Old (53.8%) raises the level with a decisive peat and a clear marine thrust, while the Blair Athol 17 Years Old (53.3%) closes the tasting with depth, complexity and great expressive maturity.

The 21st edition of the Milano Whisky Festival and Rum Show will be held at the Marriott Hotel in Via Washington 66. The Milano Whisky Festival & Rum Show 2026 aims, over an intense three days, to be the only event in Italy capable of bringing together the most important distributors and the most renowned distilleries of Scotch Whisky, Irish Whiskey, Bourbon, Far Eastern Whiskey, Rum, Ron and Rhum.

This year too, in addition to the rich program of events and free tastings; there will be no shortage of guided tastings, which will allow visitors and professionals in the sector to gain in-depth knowledge of the quality of the products on the Italian market.

The ticket for access to the exhibition hall (including: glass and glass holder) can be purchased at the entrance to the Festival, or if you want to "skip" the line you can purchase online.

A key feature of the Milano Whisky Festival & Rum Show is the opportunity to taste different whisky and rums at each stand, catering to all tastes and budgets. Each exhibitor offers tastings of their spirits starting at €3 per sample. There are also some very important whiskies and rums, some of which are long-aged, some even from distilleries no longer in existence. A unique experience, the best distilleries from around the world, all brought together in a single room spanning over 3,000 square meters. Don't miss this opportunity.

4000 WHISKEY/RUM, how can you drink them all!
It's very simple, this year too, small bottles (2cl capacity) will be available to visitors to fill with all the whiskeys and rums they want and then taste at home with friends, with the possibility of comparing the various spirits offered.
